As a Creative Arts Pastor for 15 years, I have worn many hats in the local church. I’ve learned to work with different people to achieve realities in God’s heart for local & global non-profits. It has been a beautiful privilege to foster these relationships, hear their stories and resource their creative needs. I’m a dreamer with a pastor’s heart and a creative toolkit ready to impact lives for the kingdom of God.
PROJECTS
Recently our church went through a new initiative based on the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15. The goal of the this initiative, which included graphic design assets and videography, was to create a culture of evangelism that our community desperately needed.
One of the unique challenges we had to create this culture was making it more than concepts/knowledge. We deeply wanted to install this as a core part of the culture of Bayside Church, to mobilize the people of God to share the gospel with others where they live, work, and play. Logistically filming these sessions and researching different online platforms to host it were the biggest challenges.
LOGO/SERIES DESIGN
In the local church, new series design requires branding each series and integrating the brand identity from the church organization into the assets of the new series. This example was for a series we did on the Trinity. I hand drew the trinity symbol and used photography of a single tree and dense fog to symbolize the mysterious nature of the Godhead while still presenting God is One.
Poēma is a brand I created for my music production business I started years ago. The name is based off of the Greek word “poeima” which is found in Ephesians 2:10 when Paul writes you are God’s masterpiece or “poem.” The logo is a bird in oragami style signifying that it is a work of art. The tag line of the brand is You are the song. We wanted songwriters to lean in to their spiritual identity that God adores
Grace River Church needed a brand refresh to represent a church that was unique, flowed with the Spirit in devotional life and in relationships. I created a logo that is very Florida, where they are located.
VIDEOGRAPHY
My wife and I have a passion project we call Life Story Films. It’s all about telling our loved one’s stories in a beautiful, cinematic way, before they are in the arms of Jesus. If we could tell their stories for future generations we could remember their legacy.
While I was Creative Arts Pastor at The Gathering Church, I had the incredible honor of interviewing Eric Allred before he passed from ALS Disease. He wanted to be baptized and glorify God with every remaining breath. We came to his home with our film gear and asked him to tell his story. I was deeply impacted by his life and testimony. The music track was a custom piece of music I made with one of Eric’s songs I rearranged to use underneath his testimony.
I collaborated with the kids at Centerville Christian Fellowship to create a fun series video for the story of Jericho. It was a project that entailed lego stop-motion and custom music and voice over. The kids had a blast and so did I.
Recently I filmed a wedding video for a friend on our worship team. She didn’t have a lot of money to offer, but I wanted to give her something I didn’t get to have for my own wedding. This is a wedding trailer for a beautiful day and beautiful couple.
This is the opener for a digital course I made with my team at Bayside Church. I collaborated with staff pastors and filmed 7 sessions of content for the 99 FOR THE ONE series.
Another passion project of mine is More Than A Demo Tape. I made this youtube channel to help independent artists learn more tools to produce their own music. In this educational video I incorporated screen capture techniques and design to show the audience practical tips on thinking like a producer.
WOnderful Works
I am the music creator for the kids channel WonderfulWorks. I recruited my three daughters to sing as well as my ultra-talented wife Meagan. I worked remote using Monday.com for project management and Discord for weekly communication. The passion behind this project is teaching the truth of Scripture through songs, hymns and spiritual songs. The channel is for ages 2 to 4 year olds and is commonly referred to as the “Christian Cocomelon.”
Challenges for this project was to create music that 2 to 4 year old littles could relate with, but also not annoy their parents. I am a co-owner of the company and have collaborated with the other owners on different projects, conferences, and most importantly the heart of Jesus for children.
